Greetings,

My name is Gregory Harsh and I am currently the Creative Director at Brilliant Media Strategies, a multi-service creative agency based in Anchorage, Alaska. Over the past 2 1/2 years I have worked in various media from print campaigns to online and broadcast, and have directed and developed designs, videos and animations for local and national clients for tourism, government, non-profits, and corporations.

I have experience working with large licenses, developing recognizable mascots, and am familiar with operating amongst celebrity.

Previously I was the IP Creative Director at Leapfrog Enterprises, Inc. in Emeryville, CA. For 4 years I worked with the CCO to nurture and expand their original IP for products and licensing- creating style guides, guidelines, and original ideas for products such as toys, books, apps, and DVDs. While there, I was the key director in developing a refresh of the Frog characters for a new line of DVD CG animations for Lionsgate. In addition to developing their new look I wrote story synopsis, cast voices, and assisted in developing the musical style of songs. We released 4 DVDs over the course of two years.

Prior to LeapFrog I was Art Director for internal and external properties at LucasArts, a Lucasfilm company. For six years I worked with external developers and internal teams. Additionally, I interfaced with Lucasfilm licensing to ensure brand quality across their high profile licenses. As an artist, UI designer, and Art Director I dabbled in everything from texturing and modeling, to menu and logo design, and interfaced with the other Lucas companies, such as Lucas Books, Lucasfilm PR, and ILM R&D. Titles include Star Wars the Force Unleashed II, the Lego Indiana Jones titles, and The Old Republic. I also photographed props from the Lucasfilm Archive for Lucasfilm Licensing, and developed custom Star Wars and Indiana Jones fonts for licensing use.

In between being an Artist at LucasArts and becoming an Art Director at LucasArts, I contributed to Zynga, at the time a startup developer of web and mobile games, as one of their first Art Directors. I worked with Mark Pincus to design the UI for their first iOS app, Zynga Poker.

Prior to that I was at IDG Entertainment as Art Director of the redesign of Star Wars Insider magazine, working closely with Lucasfilm licensing to transform the magazine into a more sophisticated publication, writing and conducting interviews with notable personalities. I was the sole layout designer and spot artist for a year’s worth of issues, in addition the SW EpIII movie and Vader collectors guides. I also connected with Star Wars fans while working the Star Wars Insider booth at Star Wars Celebration II. I had the extraordinary opportunity to sit in on the Star Wars Episode III recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios with George Lucas.

My first job of 10 years was at the Beeline Group as Associate Art Director of advertising and package design primarily for the video game industry, working with Sony, THQ, Konami, UbiSoft, Viacom, Nickelodeon, Warner Brothers, Nike, and others. Notable properties that I created illustrations for were Twisted Metal, Spyro, and Ico. I gained internet fandom for my design of the Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb manuals, which expanded upon Indiana Jones lore.

I am experienced in creative direction, leading small teams, graphic design, UI/UX, photography, illustration, 3D modeling, texturing, and advertising, particularly for the video game, entertainment and advertising industries.

Thank you,

Gregory Harsh
